Our client is family run, innovative business who have a fantastic reputation, multiple sites across the UK and a rapidly growing ecommerce and International business. They have ambitious plans for both their UK & International markets and are well knownfor their customer centric approach and ethics.
They are now looking for a Group Accountant to be based out of their amazing offices in Buckinghamshire.As their Group Accountant will be responsible for managing a key area within the finance team.The role will report into the Head of Finance and youwill be responsible for delivering accurate, timely and insightful Consolidated Group accounts and financial data for the business.
Working closely with the Finance Control team, you will need great technical skills, a flexible approach, a keen eye for detail and ability to deliver on time. As Group Accountant you will ensure consistent compliance for the group.
**Group Accountant - Responsibilities**
- Produce accurate monthly consolidated Group accounts to tight deadline.
- Preparation of monthly balance sheet reporting for the group entities.
- Completion and review of balance sheet reconciliations for the group entities.
- Take ownership of smaller entities’ monthly management accounts.
- Provide monthly commentary on variances to budget and reforecast.
- Responsible for all entities’ VAT return and be the main liaison for VAT queries.
- Take ownership of Group tax planning, compliance and new legislation.
- Ownership of Group Policies, intercompany reconciliations and forecasting.
- Produce monthly bank reporting and commentary.
- Produce and forecast quarterly banking covenants to ensure compliance.
- Support and input into the annual budget and periodic forecasting.
- Continuous review and improvements of internal audit procedures.
- Assist in preparation of statutory accounts and annual audit.
**Group Accountant - Required Skills**
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Experience working with group consolidations, accounts preparation and audit in either practice or industry.
- Experience with communicating financial information to non-finance colleagues.
- Familiar with accounting packages ideally Unit 4 or similar.
- Intermediate experience of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication skills to address a wide variety of organisations and audiences.
- Ability to work on own initiative, prioritise tasks, handle pressure and support finance team.
