1. Support the HSO and Governance Lead to ensure the organisation is compliant with statutory and regulatory requirements in relation to occupational health and safety.

2. Oversee the implementation of improvements to ensure compliance is achieved, producing reports as requested by the Director, HSO, and Group Governance Lead.

3. Ensure robust mechanisms are followed to identify, reduce or prevent hazards, dangers and accidents, including risk assessment and management.

4. Lead on the delivery of the company H&S Strategy and subsequent Action Plan. Work closely with the Group HSO on developing the H&S Action Plan.

5. Update and monitor incident trend analysis systems.

6. Lead all H&S meetings required; produce reports as needed following these and lead on the delivery of any associated Improvement Action Plans

7. Assist the HSO with maintaining fire safety at services, including developing policy and procedure and assisting with risk assessments and implementing controls which safeguard the health and safety of service users and staff.

8. Carry out regular fire drills to ensure equipment is functioning properly, staff are aware of actions to take in an emergency fire situation and are able to lead in an evacuation scenario. Keep robust records of drills, including lessons learned and improvements made

9. Collate data from the company Incident, Safeguarding and Welfare and Medication Error Forms and provide summary reports as required to the HSO and Governance Lead.

10. Work with the Home Managers to ensure robust evidence of compliance with statutory and regulatory legislation is available on site to external inspectors.

11. Support the Home Managers to identify solutions to H&S issues in relation to staff, service users and the company. Escalation of issues to the HSO and Group Governance Lead where appropriate.

12. Maintain an asset list and ensure all clinical or care equipment is appropriately maintained, ensuring records are available to evidence this.

13. Project Manage the sourcing, installation, implementation and evaluation of new clinical or care equipment

14. Support the Management team in the delivery of the Infection Prevention and Control Strategy

15. Any other reasonable duties that will be expected from time to time as standards and guidelines change

16. Oversee and organise equipment servicing at site including fire alarm maintenance, emergency lighting, fire extinguishers, PAT checks, gas safety, lift maintenance, 5 year wiring checks, legionella sample testing.
