Clinical Skills Facilitator

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and registered practitioner, to be part of UHL’s clinical Skills Team.
The post holder will support the Senior clinical skills lead and team in all aspects of clinical skill and simulation delivery. This will include:
- Delegated responsibility for the delivery and organisation of clinical skills training,
- Delegated responsibility for the delivery and organisation of Simulation training.
- Delivery of Resuscitation training from Basic to Advanced.
Self motivation and initiative are essential in this role, as is the ability to prioritise, multitask workload, maintain accuracy whilst meeting deadlines and deal calmly with changing priorities.
You will be well presented and a good communicator with excellent organisational and IT skills.
The job is well supported and provides good opportunities to demonstrate initiative and willingness to take on responsibility.
An Informal visit is highly recommended to fully appreciate the work of the department
Lead with the support of the senior management team the delivery of a comprehensive clinical skills and Simulation Based Education, assist as necessary in the delivery of resuscitation training and professional development program for the multidisciplinary team and service users attending the skills units
Be a pro-active and effective member of the team in the delivering education to meet the educational requirements of UHL Employees, Undergraduate and Postgraduate Medical trainees and the multi-professional workforce.
Have excellent communication skills
Contribute to the training and development strategy by supporting change and new ways of working
Maintain clinical competencies and develop core training skills in line with service demand.
To contribute to the management and decision making processes of the Clinical Skills Unit.

Primary Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, provide and evaluate specialised simulation, clinical skills and resuscitation training programmes
- Research and design the underpinning components, best clinical practice and competency criteria, being aware at all times of statutory obligations and national strategies and their impact on service delivery
- Provide Simulation training, promoting and adhering to the principles of improving individual skills, handling of emergencies and human factors
- Provide Clinical Skills training, promoting the use of the Leicester Clinical procedure Assessment tool (LCAT)
- Provide Resuscitation training, as directed by the Senior Resuscitation Officer & National Course Lead with the implementation of Resuscitation Services within UHL.
- Actively contribute to the support of trainees and assessors within the clinical area to enrich the quality of their learning experience
- Actively contribute to the education and training of support staff acknowledging their growing contribution to the delivery of care in the clinical area
- Collate accurate education and training records in line with best practice and adhering to Trust guidelines
- Act as a clinical resource and role model leading best practice and professionalism.
- Support mentorship and facilitation for trainees Encourage and promote multi-professional and inter-professional education and training cross boundary working as appropriate.
- To line Manage / Mentor other members of the Clinical Skills team as requested by the Clinical Skills Unit Manager.
