An opportunity has arisen within City Transport working in the Active Travel Team which aims to increase active travel modes within businesses, communities and schools and reduce single car occupancy. This will increase physical activity, improve and encourage healthy lifestyles and air quality in the city.

You will be responsible for helping to deliver the school active travel programme working with schools and other internal teams to help implement school travel plans and encourage walking, scooting, and cycling to school.

You will provide a ‘one stop shop’ to promote a joined up approach to sustainable travel and will increase the uptake of Modeshift STARS (national schools award scheme) and Bikeability, promote Road Safety resources and work on other related activities.

You will deliver school sessions in primary and secondary schools across the city. These will include assemblies, classroom workshops and outdoor sessions promoting active travel, road safety and air quality eg benefits of Active Travel sessions, scooter skills, air quality action, bike security marking etc.

You will need to:

- Experience of behaviour change projects,
- Be motivated, enthusiastic and a team player,
- Be educated to degree level or equivalent
- Have experience in partnership working within a school based environment
- Understand monitoring techniques and analyse datasets

**For employees who are currently on a fixed term contract with Bristol City Council, the secondment must not extend beyond the end of the fixed term period to ensure there is a substantive post to return to.**
