As a Purchase Ledger/Payroll administrator you will play a key role in supporting the accounts department of our growing manufacturing company. Salary Range - £23,000 - £25,000 (pro rata)
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Purchase Ledger (Primary)
- Coding, checking and inputting purchase ledger invoices; matching to purchase orders and delivery notes as necessary
- Handling and resolving internal and external queries both efficiently and professionally
- Reconcile supplier statements to supplier purchase ledger accounts
- Generating supplier payment runs
- Maintain data and ensure supplier details and nominal codes are correct
- Assist with the month end close process
- Manage and process credit cards statements and expenses
- Support the preparation of financial reports and maintaining financial records
- Assist with the year end audit as required
Payroll (Supporting)
- Inputting weekly hours to the payroll software from the HR system
- Assist with the preparation and processing of the payroll
- Upload pension data
- Assist with payroll queries from employees and or third parties including HMRC.
Skills and Experience
Essential
- Strong previous experience of the end to end purchase ledger process in a medium sized business (15m+ turnover)
- Strong excel skills such as V-Lookups and Pivot tables
- Proven work experience in accounts, or similar department
- Previous month end close experience
- Interpersonal, communication and teamworking skills
- Ability to maintain strong working relationships with our suppliers
- Ability to work to strict deadlines
- Comfortable navigating different software systems
Desirable
- AAT Level 3 in accounts
- Experienced with Sage 200 software
- Knowledge of Sage payroll software
- An understanding of a manufacturing environment
