Kingston upon Thames, United Kingdom Kingston University Full time

The role of Director of Experiential Learning and Engagement is at the core of the School’s strategy. Kingston Business School is building a portfolio that is defined by innovation and impact in skills development and industry engagement.

We are seeking to appoint an Associate Professor whose experience and scholarship aligns with innovative and engaging pedagogy, and a commitment to supporting the career development of our students. You’ll play a leadership role in the provision of vocationally relevant student experience and development, and work with colleagues to connect the classroom to practice. Your focus on external engagement will enable you to build relationships with employers and stakeholders that may also lead to broader opportunities such as knowledge exchange, research, and commercial consultancy.

We are committed to supporting the personal and professional development of colleagues, including personal development, participation in international conference and knowledge exchange activities.

**The Person**:
Your authority and experience will be located in both Higher Education and business, and you should be skilled in building partnerships with different types of organisations. You will have a deep understanding of the pedagogy of experiential learning and skills development and will be committed to impactful scholarship in this area. It is essential that you are able to work with academics, students and external stakeholders to deliver an outstanding student experience and graduate outcomes.

Applicants should hold at least a postgraduate qualification and will be supported to complete a PhD. You will be expected to have a strong academic foundation to deliver excellent teaching, supervise student projects, participate in the University’s recruitment initiatives, including Open Days, and provide pastoral support as a Personal Tutor to an allocated group of students.

Applicants must have a solid commitment to continuous professional development and collegiality, collaborating with interdisciplinary colleagues to enhance the University’s reputation in higher education and occupational circles.

Applicants will be required to demonstrate that they meet the Kingston University standards in learning and teaching, and research. By the end of the probation period, you must have achieved the relevant level of UKPSF recognition (if this has not already been obtained). For those new to teaching, this will be through our accredited Introduction to Learning and Teaching and for those experienced in teaching, through our Kingston Academic Practice Standards Framework.

**The Faculty**:
Kingston Business School has EFMD, AMBA and AACSB, signalling to the world that we have met the most rigorous standards of excellence in business education. Our purpose is to make an evidence-based and transformative impact in teaching and learning, research, and external engagement.

We provide opportunities, challenge and support for personal growth and career development for diverse learners. To deliver this we are implementing a skills-based and experiential approach to business education, which is grounded in business, creativity, and technology. We believe that it is through the creation and exchange of actionable knowledge that we make an impact on policy and practice, as well as preparing our learners for the future.

**Further information**:
This is a full time, permanent position with a starting salary of £57,011 per annum.

Interviews are expected to be held on Thursday 18th May 2023.

For informal enquiries, please contact Helen Franklin, Faculty Support and Projects Manager.
