As a Teaching Assistant, you will have the chance to work with students from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 4, supporting their learning and development. With a minimum of 1-year previous classroom-based experience, you will bring valuable knowledge and skills to help students succeed. Punctuality and reliability are essential traits in this role, as you will be relied upon to be present and engaged in the classroom environment.

As a Teaching Assistant in Portsmouth, you can expect a competitive pay rate of £75 - £85 per day. The position is initially offered on a fixed-term contract, with eventual opportunities to become a permanent member of staff within a local primary, secondary or specialist school. Alternatively, many of our client schools offer temporary-to-permanent contracts, lasting 16 working weeks. This pathway allows you to showcase your skills and commitment, leading to a permanent position within the school.

The working hours for this role are Monday to Friday, from 8.30am to 3.30pm. This provides a stable schedule and work-life balance, allowing you to focus on your professional growth and development.

As a Teaching Assistant, you may be required to support those with SEN (Special Educational Needs). You would play a crucial role in supporting their individual needs and ensuring they have equal access to equal opportunities. You will work closely with the classroom teacher, providing additional support and guidance to students that require additional support. This could involve adapting learning materials, providing 1:1 assistance with communication and behavioural strategies. Our positions offer the perfect platform for individuals with backgrounds in support work, tutoring, sports coaching, or psychology.
