Job Description:

We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team at a secondary school in Portsmouth. This full-time role, facilitated through Teaching Personnel, is perfect for individuals passionate about supporting students’ educational journeys and contributing to a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in preparing and delivering lessons.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students.
  • Help manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive learning atmosphere.
  • Support students with special educational needs (SEN) and adapt resources to meet their needs.
  • Assist with administrative tasks and contribute to the overall school community.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in student development.
