Part time temporary Kennel Assistant required to start as soon as possible to help with busy summer period minimum of 22.5 hours. More hours available to cover other staff holidays and during our peak seasons May - September.

**Your work would include**:

- Preparing food and feeding the animals
- Cleaning kennels and cabins include sweeping and mopping floors, washing food bowls and restocking food store. Exercising, playtime and taking part in activities to keep pets entertained during their stay.
- Maintaining the kennels, cabins, runs and grounds - may include sweeping, weeding, paintings etc.
- Looking after animals which are elderly, ill or distressed
- Answering telephone calls to take bookings, deposits and general enquiries
- Greeting customers to the premises
- Taking payments by cash and card
- Coming back early evening (between 7.30pm & 8.00pm) for evening rounds

**Skills / qualifications / experience**
- Experience of caring for/handling animals
- **The ability to work comfortably in a team or alone.**
- A willingness and ability to learn and follow instructions quickly and accurately
- **A reasonable fitness level is required in order to carry out the role.**

**Essential traits**
- Confidence and experience with handling animals mainly cats and dogs.
- Flexibility with working hours/days
- The ability to cope with the physical demands of the job
- The initiative to work well on your own
- Previous experience in the boarding kennel/ cattery business

**Desirable traits**
- Good team working skills
- Organisational skills
- The ability to communicate with a broad range of people
- Good telephone communication skills
- Experience with handling cash/ using credit card machines
- Full UK Drivers license and access to own transportation

**Job Types**: Part-time, Temporary contract
Contract length: 5-6 months

Pay: £8.60-£11.44 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 15 per week
