Based primarily in the David Hockney Library, but willing to work flexibly across college, the Skills Hub Coordinator Apprentice will coordinate the activity in the skills hub at David Hockney and across college. They will liaise with internal and external stakeholders to offer a wide-ranging selection of activities to develop learners’ universal attributes.

Universal Attributes are “the qualities, skills and understandings [that] include, but go beyond, the disciplinary expertise or technical knowledge that has traditionally formed the core of most‿ courses. They are qualities that prepare [students] as agents of social good in an unknown future.” (Bowden et al. 2000, p.3)

Responsibilities include:

- Supports students and staff to access a range of activities that develop universal attributes.
- Delivers excellent customer service through teamwork & knowledge sharing, contributing to shared meetings and project groups.
- Coordinate the delivery of activities by internal and external stakeholders to develop learners’ universal attributes.
- Contributes to the general administrative duties as appropriate when coordinating these activities.
- Supports and contributes to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to all aspects of the skills hub.
- Contributes to the development of new and existing policies, procedures/systems to ensure a customer focused service and Customer Service Standards are achieved
- Participates in appraisal and takes responsibility for their own continuous professional development and training as appropriate to the post.

Education & Training
- GCSE 4-9 (A*-c) or nationally recognised level 2 qualification in maths or equivalent (e.g. CSE 1, O Level A-C)
- GCSE 4-9 (A*-c) or nationally recognised level 2 qualification in English or equivalent (e.g. CSE 1, O Level A-C)

Experience
- Experience of working in a customer focused environment
- Able to set and adhere to appropriate professional boundaries.
- Ability to utilise IT and ILT both within learning and for administrative purposes
- Customer service skills
- Ability to assess customer needs and provide appropriate resource and/or guidance
