Overall, Role
Manningham Mills Community Hub sits in the heart of Manningham.

Our aim is to serve the community in a whole range of ways from:

  • Event Space Hire, Listers Coffee Shop, 1838 Thrift Shop, Live Well & Safe Retail as well as supporting local groups, activities, and courses.


This role is to provide support to the Hub Manager and Hub Team Leader in the daily running of the Hub this could include but is not limited to.


Main Duties

  • To provide general admin and event support as required.
  • To support the smooth running of events, assisting on the day as required by the relevant member of the Conference and Events Team including production of name cards, notices, signage, delegate packs etc.
  • To work within the 1838 Thrift Store, serving customers, sorting donations, tagging items for sale, and keeping the shop clean and tidy.
  • To work in Listers Coffee Shop offering support over peak times, opening, and closing, inventory checks, clearing tables, preparing food and drinks, and serving customers.
  • To help and serve customers within Live Well & Safe Retail.
  • General cleaning and maintenance of the building.
  • To undertake any other activities as may be requested by the Hub Manager or Hub Team Leader.

Person Specification

Desirable

  • Experience of working in a customer service role, prioritising workload in a busy team environment
  • Experience of working within the event or hospitality sector
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and experience of working in a clientfacing role
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to act on own initiative and to work independently but also as part of a team
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to work and working hours, with the willingness to learn new skills
  • The ability to work under pressure
  • A methodical approach to work with an excellent eye for detail and accuracy
  • Planning and organisational skills
  • Strong IT skills with experience of using a range of software, including spreadsheets (e.g. Microsoft Office programmes, particularly Microsoft Outlook)
  • Strong numeracy skills
  • The ability to problem solve at short notice
