Family Support Worker

**The Role**:
You will provide support to pregnant and new mothers and their families reinforcing the importance of good infant nutrition and other health improvement messages. Whilst working as part of the Acute perinatal team, the role will involve work across several settings including the family home, community and clinical settings, working alongside other professionals e.g. midwives, in the early postnatal discharge period.

**What we'll need you to bring**:
- SVQ III in Healthcare or working towards or equivalent experience working in the role
- Unicef Baby Friendly training or willingness to undertake
- Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to carry out assigned tasks effectively in a busy environment
- Full driving licence and access to a car
**It would be great if you also have**:
- Previous experience in a community healthcare setting
- Unicef baby friendly training or willingness to undertake
- Evidence of continuous personal development & a commitment to lifelong learning
**Contract type**:
Fixed Term or Secondment for 2 years
Full time and Part Time positions available
Hours to be discussed and confirmed with hiring manager
Please note if a part time post is offered, the salary for this position will be pro-rata.
**Location and Working Pattern**:
This role will be based in the maternity department within University Hospital Wishaw.
The working pattern for this role is fully rotational 24hrs over 7 days
