What you’ll be doing
This role is positioned within the Treasury Department in the Group Finance team. The team is made up of the Treasury Manager, Treasury Supervisor and Treasury Assistants.

Working as part of the Treasury team, the Treasury Assistant will have responsibility for the efficient and effective processing of all payment requests; recording of transactions on the various bank accounts on a daily basis; preparing bank account reconciliations.

The Treasury Team are responsible for maintaining and reconciling various bank accounts and processing of payments in a timely fashion. At times, team members will work under pressure to meet weekly, monthly and annual deadlines.
- Process bank statement transactions on a daily basis
- Processing of payments, both manual and formal payment runs (including our royalty runs)
- Take credit card transactions using Secure Trading or PDQ Machines, as well as processing the necessary refunds as required
- Record and process direct debits and standing orders
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
- Proforma payments process, working with Customer Services to ensure despatch of orders when payment has been received
- Maintaining a high level of communication and offer excellent service attitude to all stakeholders
- General administrative duties necessary to maintain the operation of the Treasury Department (i.e. scanning, filing, archiving etc)
- Any other duties as may be reasonably requested in line with the job role.

It would be an advantage, but not essential, to have experience of system changes, be able to understand basic contractual language and have experience in the publishing industry.

This office-based role (Didcot, Oxfordshire) will currently be conducted as part of a hybrid model, working from the office a minimum of 3 days per week (with the exception of March and September where 5 days per week would be required due to the Bi-Annual Royalty Payments).
