**Your role at Orbit**
With plans to build 6,500 new homes by 2025, Orbit Homes is ones of the country’s major housing developers.Our “Your place to thrive” brand, positions Orbit Homes in the market as an aspirational, contemporary and responsible housing developer.We’redelivering a truly varied range of homes, from private sale and shared ownership to affordable and social rent properties across the Midlands, the East and South East.
We are recruiting a Technical Manager for our Orbit Homes Midlands region.We have a good number of developments in progress and numerous sites starting in the new year.
As the Technical Manager you will:
- Be responsible for ensuring that complete and comprehensive package of technical documents is available to Operations team and other departments to meet the project programme and post occupation compliance and audit requirements.
- Liaise with and advise other departments on engineering and technical service issues and interface matters and to provide backup and information flow.
- Work with consultants, suppliers and manufactures to ensure the preparation of technical support information in accordance with the programme and budget.
- Oversee and take responsibility for all technical and architectural related aspects of the site.
- Manage the Technical team in a commercially minded way.
- Prepare Technical specifications in line with the requirements determined by land acquisition or client requirements.
**What will help you make a difference**:
- A good technical knowledge of civil engineering and building construction is essential.
- A working knowledge of planning and building regulations.NHBC, Highway Authority, Sewerage Authority and Utility Design requirements is necessary together with associated legislation relevant to the construction industry.
- Experience effectively managing a team and providing advice and guidance as needed
- The ability to recognise problems and deal with them in a fast, effective and efficient manner.
- High level of written and verbal communication skills and experience in working with multi disciplined teams.
