To be the first point of contact for the Ambulatory Care Unit and deal with visitors directing all enquiries and any day to day problems to the appropriate person/department.
To be able to demonstrate good interpersonal skills and communication skills working effectively as part of a team within a hospital environment
with patients, visitors, relatives as well as medical, nursing and therapies staff.
To ensure patient records/information is accurately recorded on to the patient’s information system and effectively deal with all enquiries, via the telephone and face to face with regard to patients, staff, internal and external agencies, or to escalate to the appropriate member of the medical team.
Maintain the confidentiality, safety and security of the reception area
To ensure the provision of a full range of administrative, clerical and reception support services to the Ward Manager and Clinical staff within the Ambulatory Care Unit.
The post holder will be responsible for providing administrative support to the unit to ensure its smooth operation and running. The post holder’s primary role will be to assist in providing a comprehensive efficient administrative system to the unit’s multidisciplinary staff that ensures they are supported in their roles. Working as a member of the team they will act as the main focal and central access point for communication within the unit and be responsible for collating and disseminating information and data that facilitates the day to day unit operation. They will help all levels of staff, patients, relatives and members of the public as well as outside organisations and agencies. Using their communication skills the post holder will have the ability to use their initiative, working with mínimal supervision to tight deadlines and maintain a flexible approach whilst respecting confidentiality for work undertaken.
