To provide a comprehensive service to patients and perform to a high standard the clerical duties
associated with the Emergency Gynaecology Unit (EGU) and Ward F16 at Wythenshawe. A key part of
the role will be co-ordination of the clerks to ensure that all tasks are completed to a high standard and
in a timely manner. These tasks include (but are not limited to):
facilitating the attendance of patients to EGU
facilitating the telephone triage processes associated with EGU
clerking for admissions to Ward F16
overseeing the appropriate preparation of medical records for Gynaecology’s theatre lists at Wythenshawe
To operate within clearly defined limits of policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines within the
department and when necessary improve good working practise.
We wish to appoint a reliable individual who will provide a high quality ward clerk/administrator service for the Emergency Gynaecology Unit at Wythenshawe Hospital, where you will be based on the busy reception desks.
You will need to be highly organised and have excellent communication and customer service skills. You will provide a complete range of reception and administrative services including data input. You will liaise with all levels of clinical and administrative staff and welcome all patients and visitors to the wards.
The role is varied and challenging. You must enjoy working with the general public and be a team player. You will be able to use your own initiative, be flexible and able to prioritise your workload. A conscientious and pro-active approach is key to this role as well as a friendly personality and a mature and confident outlook.
Experience in a similar position is an advantage but is not essential.
You will be required to work shifts, which will include weekends and all Bank Holidays including Christmas and New Year worked on a rota basis.
1 x Full Time role - 37.5 hours
1 x Part Time role - 21 hours
