Do you have experience supporting projects and working in community safety?
We are seeking a passionate individual to join Suffolk County Council's **Public Health and Communities** directorate as a **Community Safety Project Officer** based out of Endeavour House in **Ipswich**. Flexible and hybrid working options are available.
**Your role and responsibilities**
You will provide administration and project support across the Community Safety teams priority areas:
- Anti-Social Behaviour,
- Hate crime
- Preventing Radicalisation
- Criminal Exploitation
- Modern Slavery
- Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence
- Serious Violence
You will take independent action and responsibility for forward planning of work. While most tasks will be assigned by management, you'll have freedom to undertake the task in the way you see fit.
**You will need**
- excellent communication skills and ability to write detailed reports
- the ability to present to teams and external partners
- to foster and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners
- experience in community safety, especially the priority areas listed above
- to be able to work flexibly across work areas
- experience of working to tight timescales and experience of managing large amounts of information from legislation and guidance quickly and effectively to brief partners
- to be comfortable working at all levels and managing/requesting project outcomes from organisations outside Suffolk County Council.
**The team**
You will be a key part of The Community Safety Team within Public Health and Communities, working flexibly across our priority areas of Domestic Abuse, Preventing Radicalisation, Anti-Social Behaviour, Serious Violence and Criminal Exploitation.
