Our team are important to us and we think we’re already leading the way with how we look after them, but we accept we can always do more. That’s why we want to create a new **Head of **_**(Extraordinary)**_ **People **role based within our Head Office team in Newcastle-under-Lyme.

This new role will take the lead on all HR matters, with a real focus on learning and development, welfare of our team and promotion of our _extraordinary _culture. This role is very hands on - we expect our senior management team to get involved in our operations where possible. We believe you need to lead from the front, so this isn’t a purely office based or 9 to 5 role.

Whilst the role is based in our Head Office, you’ll need to have a driving license to travel between our sites from Shrewsbury to Knutsford.

This role would suit an experienced HR individual looking to get back to the “shop floor” to make some real waves, or a senior hospitality manager with HR experience. You’ll have the exciting opportunity to build our HR and L&D systems from the ground up and develop with us as we grow our group. You will report directly into our Managing Director, working alongside the Operations Manager and be responsible for the journey of 200+ team members.

**Responsibilities**
- Manage the onboarding process of our new starters on our HR platform, agreeing their onboarding schedule and leading on training on our group culture.
- Drive our ‘extraordinary’ culture that embodies our Leadership Principles, which reward, promote and encourage high performance throughout the organisation.
- Ensure cultural consistency as we grow and scale and set up infrastructure to manage through change and continue to improve the level of trust and transparency across levels and functions.
- Monitor, analyse and measure key People Development interventions.
- Take a lead on reward, job banding and internal progression along with building a culture that celebrates performance and manages underperformance.
- Develop and deliver our SOPs, inductions, training and learning & development programmes.
- Build an incredible employee journey from onboarding to exit.
- Prepare and contribute to a People Talent Plan across the group, ensuring we have live succession plans in place with a consistent and sufficient pipeline of talent coming through internal promotions.
- Create Performance Improvement Plan Templates for Managers to use and to oversee implementation and monitoring of those plans.
- Lead on coaching & supporting managers in Grievance, Disciplinary and Performance Management for the site management teams, to train ER, Rights and Responsibilities and to facilitate use of external ER advice service to best support site teams.
- Lead, manage and champion our Employee Engagement Platform and all other rewards activity.
- Have oversight of team happiness and retention, regularly checking in with individuals across the company to understand their motivations, areas of interest, areas of concern, and current sense of fulfilment in their role.

**Requirements**:

- Degree, diploma or equivalent qualification in HR / L&D.
- Experience within a senior HR or L&D capacity.
- Experience of hospitality in a senior capacity either in a HR, L&D or operational capacity.
- Intimate and up-to-date knowledge of People best practice, employment law, and compliance practices and policies.
- Proven experience and capability to project manage, lead, and implement a wide range of People Development programmes using a structured approach.
- Proven experience and capability of implementing and managing team welfare programmes, training courses and learning and development programmes.
- An enormous passion for inspiring, motivating and developing people.

As this is a new role we are creating, we are willing to be flexible on salary, dependent on experience for the right individual. We will provide all tools necessary for you to be successful within the role, such as mileage allowance, company laptop etc.
