**The Role**

Creative Assembly is looking for an experienced leader for the Talent team, an HR specialist with a strong interest in Talent and associated topics, to join our accomplished team at our games’ development studio as Head of Talent. This role will be based at our headquarters in Horsham, in the heart of West Sussex or could be based at our studio in Newcastle, Creative Assembly North, with regular travel to Horsham.
Flexible working at Creative Assembly includes hybrid, fully remote within country of employment for eligible roles, and in-studio. We recognise that there is no one-size-fits-all approach and empower our teams to define the working patterns which work best for them, which may mean different things for different teams and roles and at different times.
This role is Hybrid and has an expectation of 2 days per week in studio due to the high level of stakeholder engagement and people leadership required. Regular, likely fortnightly, travel to Horsham would be required if based in Newcastle. This role is not available on a fully remote working basis. **What you’ll be doing**

As Head of Talent, you will work to evolve and deliver the overall people strategy and operational needs for the business. You will work to respond to current requirements whilst maintaining the strategic roadmap of objectives set out ahead. You will lead and develop a strong in-house Talent team, that covers full end-to-end talent acquisition through to onboarding including immigration and relocation.
You will lead compensation market reviews and work with relevant teams to investigate and propose solutions to homogenise the reward strategies across teams and the company, adding value across the business.
You will build on and develop existing relationships with franchise leaders, to enable recruitment processes further, as well as building strong relationships across the HR pillars to bring and share ideas and experience to benefit the business and further HR best practice.
There will be opportunities for project work where they are aligned to business goals, and these could involve multi-disciplinary teams within or outside of HR, and could cover D&I, the education pipeline and social impact generally.
On a day-to-day basis, you will:
**Strategic Delivery**
- Work with the wider HR team to support the strategic direction for Talent
- Support resource planning and people solutions
- Assess external labour market conditions, analyse trends, create metrics to address business needs
- Develop highly effective and proactive recruiting strategies including salary setting, org design, and emerging skills
- Translate business objectives into meaningful priorities
- Demonstrate a commercial mindset
- Commitment to engaging a diverse and inclusive workforce now and in the future.

**Operational Capability**
- Deliver on immediate and future Talent Acquisition needs of the business
- Assess and implement innovative pipelines outside of current Talent Acquisition activities
- Ensure we meet employment law regulations and legislation with regards to Talent Acquisition, Immigration

**Leadership**
- Lead Talent team to success through effective leadership and coaching
- Conduct and share market intelligence related to industry trends
- Build, and maintain influential relationships internally
- Coaching hiring managers and leaders on best practice with Talent
- Partnering with studio leadership to solve complex problems.

**What we are looking for**
- Extensive experience as an in-house Talent Acquisition Specialist operating at a senior level or extensive experience in leading HR teams to best practice and have a demonstrable interest in Talent Acquisition
- Experience pulling in data/recruitment metrics and external labour market conditions, analyse trends, to address business needs
- Experienced team leader; showing a range of leadership skills including coaching
- Experience with market trends and salary benchmarking
- Experience with UK employment law inc. IR35, immigration, and relocation
- Ability to influence at all levels
- Excellent problem-solving skills. You will be aware of potential and current issues and formulate pragmatic plans to solve them
- Exceptional organisational skills
- Dynamic and self-motivated
- Strong planning and implementation skills
- Strong presentation skills
- A team thinker - able to work with a broad range of stakeholders both within the company and externally
- An interest in D&I, the education pipeline and/or social impact.

**Optional Extras**
- CIPD qualified, ideally level 5 or above
- Experience with collaborating with an in-house HR team
- Appreciation for games.
