We are looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Fundraising Officer to work with our young but highly successful charity.

This is a SELF EMPLOYED position.

We are Farming Minds is a Herefordshire based Charity working with the farming community to provide support and advice to people struggling with their mental health.

**Purpose of Job**:
To increase the provision of funding streams to enable We are farming Minds to carry out its objectives and increase opportunities for developing new and existing projects.

**Job Summary**

The post holder will be responsible for raising funds for We Are Farming Minds from community fundraising, grants/trusts and developing other key income streams: major donors, regular giving and corporate, online selling of merchandise. The post holder will hold a strategic overview of We Are Farming Minds fundraising needs and be a key player in the charity’s communications and marketing

**Duties and Responsibilities Income Generation**
- Manage, support and develop imaginative fundraising activities, some of which will be events-based
- Inspire new supporters to raise money, while maintaining and developing relationships with existing supporters
- Develop and broaden corporate support
- Develop and coordinate web-based fundraising including social media and selling merchandise.
- Maintain and update the fundraising and communications budgets
- Develop and update a strategic plan to guide fundraising activities and revenue generation
- approaching businesses, local authorities and individuals to encourage donations.
- organising and helping with fundraising activities such as sponsored or promotional events.
- planning donation campaigns and events, along with the communications needed to ensure they are a success.
- ensuring that donors and funders are kept informed about how their money is being used.
- reporting on funding and donation income to trustees, members of the public, charity supporters and funders.

**Communications**
- Work with the Project Manager to raise the profile of the charity.
- Raise awareness of the charity, its service, successes and plans in the local community and through both social media and the local press.

**Administration**
- Preparation of fundraising report for Trustees meetings
- Maintaining the fundraising database and documents
- Preparation of reports for funders
- Thank and respond to supporters and donors in a timely and appropriate manner

**Other**
- Stay abreast of fundraising good practice and legislation, ensuring compliance with the Charities Act and the Institute of Fundraising and FRSB codes of practice.
- Support Project Manager with ad hoc tasks

**Person Specification Knowledge and Experience**
- Experience of charity fundraising over a range of methods
- Experience of a wide range of communication methods including press and social media
- An understanding of the role and contribution of volunteers in the work of a voluntary organisation
- Appropriate computer skills
- Good administration skills
- Strong IT/computer skills including Word, Excel and Outlook

- Ability to work with a wide range of people including volunteers

- An understanding of farming and mental health would be beneficial to the role._

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 16 per week

**Salary**: £12.50 per hour
