Crewe, United Kingdom GB Railfreight Full time

Overview:

- Are you looking for a new challenge?
- Are you currently a fully competent mainline train driver looking for an opportunity to grow and learn with a company that supports and encourages progession?

If so, look no further GB Railfreight are looking to further grow our Crewe depot to help carry out our best-in-class services in the area. Having recently hired almost a dozen drivers for the depot we are still on the lookout for more professional drives who would be proud to join the blue team and lead the freight rail revolution and partake in the exciting work we have, whether current or in the pipeline.
- As a Crewe based driver you would mainly drive class 66 diesel locomotives across various routes in England. The work is predominately aggregates work between the Peak Forest and Midlands so you would get to see some pretty great sights on route In addition you would also get involved with some intermodal and Network Rail work, so no week would be the same

You would be empowered to take responsibility for the delivery of the key activities on the front line, to always be conscious of, and operate with, the highest regard to safety and to challenge unsafe behaviours at all times.

As a train driver with GB Railfreight you are also the face of the business and are encouraged to build good relationships with customers at our customer sites and terminals, and provide good customer service regardless of the situation. A sense of humour helps, along with a certain level of patience

**Responsibilities**:

- You will join our Crewe based team and work alongside our Rail Operators who prepare and shunt the trains, duty control managers, Operations Managers, signallers, and a number of other parties to ensure the services run smoothly, safely, and in a timely fashion.

A flexible attitude to working hours is required due to this being a shift-based role working a nominal 34.5 hour week. The shifts vary and need to cover work 24/7, particularly on nights, which is traditionally the domain of freight

Qualifications:

- For your efforts you will receive a competitive salary of £61,739 basic salary per annum based on a 34.5 hours contracted week. You will be supported by dedicated managers who often go above and beyond to lend a helping hand. Or a listening ear for that matter. It is this approach that has recently won GB Railfreight the ‘Great Place to Work’ award at the National Rail Awards.

And if that’s not enough reason to join us, you will also be able to enjoy the following:

- ** Healthcare package** - Healthcare cover for a range of operations for you and a partner living at the same address as well as cover for a number of health care facilities for you and your dependents including consultations, scans, counselling, optical, dental, and therapy treatments.
- ** Cycle to work scheme** - Salary sacrifice scheme for bicycle purchase twice a year.
- ** Denplan scheme** - Salary sacrifice scheme for you and your partner.
- ** Online Benefits Portal** - Offering hundreds or discounts at nationwide retailers.
- ** SmartTech** - interest free purchase scheme in partnership with Currys PC World
- ** Training Platform** - Providing you with an online learning facility and the opportunity to develop your career at your leisure.

If you’re sitting there thinking ‘where do I sign up?’, there’s only three more questions to answer:

- Are you currently a qualified train driver in the UK with a European Train Driver Licence?
- Do you live within 60 minutes travel time of Crewe train station?
- Do you have a full UK manual driving licence?
