**Description**:
**About the role**
This is an exciting time to join our expanding team and support the delivery of our regulatory EDI policy work, aimed at improving the experiences and outcomes of the UK’s nursing and midwifery professionals and our customers and partners. This role will have a cross-organisational focus and play a pivotal role in making sure that colleagues are able to confidently and competently achieve EDI objectives through their work, and that the NMC upholds high standards on equality.
You’ll provide line management support to our EDI Coordinator, who supports our entire team to operate effectively. You will work with colleagues across the organisation to provide advice, practical solutions and creative ideas to ensure we are compliant with equalities legislation and upholding best practise. The work will be varied and rewarding, including policy development, training, reporting, data analysis, communications and engagement internally and externally.
The post-holder will help ensure we are meeting our equalities aims and targets, in particular those outlined in our EDI strategy
**About you**
You should be experienced and confident in providing EDI advice, acting as a trusted critical friend within the organisation. You should have excellent analytical skills and attention to detail and be able to translate our research, data and evidence into effective solutions to drive our EDI work forward. We are looking for someone who can work autonomously and enjoy multi-tasking and meeting tight deadlines, while working with team members and colleagues collaboratively.
You’ll need to be an expert point of contact for our internal and external EDI queries and be comfortable influencing decision-makers at all levels. Your people skills and EDI experience will mean you can spot risks and opportunities for improvements in our work and put effective solutions in place. You’ll be deeply committed to equality and be inclusive in all your work and engagement, motivated by achieving excellence in our approach to EDI.
