London, UK, United Kingdom LAW SOCIETY Full time

The Role

The Law Society is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Lead to drive our internal EDI strategy, ensuring it is embedded in our culture and ways of working.

As the EDI Lead, you will join an established function that has been expertly built up over the past 3 years, with significant scope to develop the role further.

This high-profile position offers lots of visibility and strong support from the executive and leadership team. You will be at the forefront of developing, implementing, and embedding EDI initiatives across the Law Society and helping us become a more inclusive and diverse workplace.

Please refer to the JD for information around specific responsibilities.

What we're looking for

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with authentic authority on EDI matters to make their mark.

To be successful you will need a proven track record of engaging with and influencing senior stakeholders to drive behavioural change, expertise in developing and implementing strategies and action plans, and the ability to analyse and present complex issues with discretion and confidentiality.

We're looking for someone who is politically astute with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships. Knowledge of the legal profession in relation to EDI, or previous experience working in a regulatory, institute or membership organisation, may be advantageous.

What's in it for you

This is an excellent opportunity to work with contemporary thinkers in a progressive membership organisation. The successful candidate will join a strong brand with a reputation for excellence and legal expertise, committed to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion, and a culture of trust, clarity, excellence and respect.

We offer hybrid working (2 days per week working in our London office), a generous flexible benefits package, a friendly working environment and the opportunity to develop your career within a professional organisation.

Please note: if you are an internal applicant, Pay Policy will apply.

The Law Society represents solicitors in England and Wales. From negotiating with and lobbying the profession's regulators, government and other decisionmakers, to offering training and advice, we're here to help, protect and promote solicitors.
