As part of our commitment to offer early help support to children and families, we want to appoint a full-time, permanent Assessment and Information Officer.

The role of an Assessment and Information Officer is a rewarding and varied one with the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children, young people and families. Our core responsibility is to support education settings and the wider children’s workforce in assessing and planning to meet children’s needs as soon as they become evident, through use of the Early Help Assessment tool. This will include contributing to audit and development activity. Your days will be spent collaborating with professionals from across the children's workforce, offering formal and informal training, information and advice and sometimes supporting multi-agency meetings. You will also visit schools and other settings to promote the value of early help work.

You will work closely with another Assessment and Information Officer to support Return Home Interviews with children who have been missing and may be at risk of exploitation, and in supporting and training our dedicated community panel volunteers work in the youth justice system. You will take on a lead responsibility in one of these areas, to be confirmed when in post.

If you hold a degree or NVQ4 in a field relevant to working with children and have experience and skills in delivering training and consultancy and also want to continue to undertake some direct work with children, this may be the post for you.
