**Job description -**

**3 F/T SUPPORT WORKER / DRIVERS posts available** : To join an existing team in Dundonald, South Ayrshire, Scotland. Male or Female

**Each post will be : 28hrs per week and 1 Sleepover on a 4 weekly rota**

Days will include dayshifts, backshifts, overnights and weekends on a rota system.

Days and times to be discussed at interview.

Rate of pay: £14 per hr to reflect the experience required.
- 6 month, probationary period.
- Successful applicant must be highly flexible around working days and times

** potential availability to cover for respite, this may include a paid holiday / work travel either in the uk or abroad or supporting with respite at home.
- Must have Full clean Drivers licence.

**Personal specifications**:

- Must be a confident / competent driver
- Must have a clean driver’s licence
- Experience in care sector is highly desirable
- Having a current Moving & Assisting Certificate is desirable but not essential as access to training course is provided.

The employers are 2 brothers who live in the same household, they are both wheelchair users both have a muscle wasting condition that affects their day to day needs.

**Duties and tasks to be undertaken**:

- Full Personal Care support
- Transfers using hoist
- Assisting with air ventilator - training can be given
- Assisting with domestic tasks such as cooking and cleaning.
- Take part in training
- Potential training available if required to drive the wheelchair accessible vehicle ( cost will be covered by the employer )
- Must be physically fit, this can be a physically demanding job

The brothers get on better with peers of similar age grouping to themselves.

**Their Hobbies and interests are**:

- Boccia, one is on the National Team, which is their main interest. This involves training upwards of 10 hours a week.
- Both involved in the national team.
- Daily stretching and exercise is completed to help with disability.

The family are looking to employ 3 workers to support both brothers within the team.

There is a 6 month probation period attached to this post, with a 1 week notice within this period if the post does not work out.

All successful applicants will have to undergo a new or update of the PVG disclosure scheme ( cost covered by the employer )
