This job role involves working in a unique and dynamic but supportive environment with challenging young people (13- 18 years) with a range of mental health conditions within a safe one person specialised centre within the community. As a Mental Health support worker, you will ensure that our young people grow and flourish in a safe, nurturing environment whilst also learning and developing knowledge and skills in mental health presentations and therapeutic strategies.

With Oakfield, you will have the opportunity to not just observe behaviour and mental health, but learn about it and develop your own skills whilst being part of a multi-disciplinary medical/clinical team. Here at Oakfield, we have a strong focus on training and supporting staff in their learning and developing their skills.

- Young people aged 13-18 years
- Complex Trauma
- Behaviour that challenges
- Eating disorders
- Paranoia / Schizophrenic disorders
- Autism / ADHD
- Complex Learning difficulties

**What your day to day job role would look like**:

- Providing care and support/encouragement to our young people
- Helping our young people with daily activities and essential life skills
- Managing challenging behaviours, implementing psychological strategies to help the young person keep themselves safe and grow and flourish within themselves
- Going on daily activities with our young people to promote independence and fulfilment
- Maintaining a clean, safe and enjoyable environment for staff and sour young people
- Communicate effectively with young people and fellow staff member
- Maintaining up to date documentation

- 3-5 day training package upon induction to our team where you will learn all about our service and develop knowledge/ skills in counselling, learning needs and
- Continual ongoing training opportunities for staff as part of your role

A**pplicant Requirements**
- Substantial Experience with challenging behaviours (personal or professional)
- if not applicants will not be successful
- Certified DBS- ideally online system
- Living within Greater Manchester region
- Sufficient in English writing and I.T. skills
- Driving licence: manual/automatic
