**Job Summary**:
The residential support worker is responsible for the day to day care of children from getting them out of bed in the morning through to ensuring homework has been done. The children will look to you for guidance and emotional support and will come from all walks of life, helping to build their own personal confidence, being able to recognise behavioural patterns and spotting early on any potential mental health issues are just a few things

Good communication skills and the ability to be able to communicate with people on all levels are essential. Excellent administration skills as well as accurate record keeping is also a must. Computer or apple mac literate with a good understanding of Microsoft word & excel beneficial.

A full UK driving licence is needed for this position

**Duties & Responsibilities Include**

You must have a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) for this position. Or working / willing to work towards it.

Excellent Communication Skills

Able to deal with people at all levels

Establish & maintain a positive and professional relationship with children and young adults

Complete daily care plan for each individual child or young adult

Administration - Ensure all records are up to date and current

Contribute create a warm, nuturing and caring environment

Meal Preparation

Completion of daily tasks both during and outside of term time. May include shopping, meal preparation, laundry etc.

Demonstrate acceptable household behaviour

Work with external professionals to

Immediately and appropriately act on any suspicion, evidence, allegation or concern in relation to children’s safety in accordance with our policies and procedures

Maintain Confidentiality AT ALL TIMES

**Hours**

Staff must be willing to work flexible hours, including sleep ins, weekends and Bank Holidays on a shift rota basis. Working off the premise of 48hour shifts (when on a sleep in shift) 2 shifts on 4 days off.

**Salary & Benefits**

Salary - £ Competitive

First Aid Certificate-Training provided

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: £8.60-£11.44 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
