Main duties of the job

The purpose of this role is to work as a qualified First Aider within our Event Medical Team.

As a Event First Aider you will be expected to respond to a range of medical incidents within the confines of the event in which you are deployed and provide emergency first aid to members of the public, contractors and employees attending the event.

The role holder will be expected to act within the role defined by Rapid Response Ambulance. Within the role of Event First Aider, you will be involved in the treatment and management of injuries/illness suffered by any anyone attending the event.

**Responsibilities**:

- As a first aider, you’re responsible for providing immediate, lifesaving medical care to an ill or injured person.
- Work within your scope of practice to assess individuals to identify the nature and cause of their injury/illness.
- Understand the actions that need to be taken in the case of an emergency to maintain safety for all in attendance.
- Administer emergency first aid treatment in accordance with your scope of practice and identify situations that are outside of your scope of practice and escalate accordingly.
- Maintaining airways of an unconscious person.
- Performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation CPR or using an automated external defibrillator (AED) and other equipment
- Supporting an injured limbs
- Complete accurate and concise records for all advice and treatment given within your role on the appropriate patient report form.
- Have a good understanding of how to maintain safety.
- To be vigilant and take an active role in supporting event safety and operations.
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of all children, young people, and adults at risk of harm.
- Report directly to the Medical Team Lead
- Ensure all equipment is in date, in good working condition and cleaned in accordance with Rapid Response Ambulance Infection Control Policy. Raising any concerns to the Event Medical Lead.
- Carry out duties in accordance with all relevant policies and procedures.
- To maintain the current quality of service provision, regularly evaluating your own work and seeking to make improvements to current working practice.
- Actively participate in all training and performance review activities relevant to your role.
- Always operate with honesty and integrity and raise any concerns through the appropriate channels.

About you:
The post holder will be expected to Provide first aid treatment and care for members of the public at a variety of events whilst working for Rapid Response Ambulance. It is therefore essential that you recognise the distinctive role you have play as part of a multi disciplinary team especially before further medical help can arrive.

You will passionate about the safety of event goers and have a drive to deliver good quality care to those that require your skills.

You will be able to demonstrate that you are able to prevent risk, save lives, and ensure the health an safety of casualties.

You will be willing to continuously develop your skills and attend additional training when required.

You must be physically fit as this is a demanding role which requires you to be on your feet for sometime.

Required skills and qualifications
- Hold an up to date Emergency First aid/First aid at work or Advanced First aid certificate
- Good standard of spoken and written English.
- Level 1 Maths

Preferred skills and qualifications
- Advanced first aid certificate
- Previous experience of events work
