A specialist automotive manufacturer is recruiting an experienced Project/Senior Buyer to work from their Daventry headquarters. You take responsibility for the whole purchasing department with the overall aim of ensuring a streamlined, efficient department. You will manage a selection of suppliers with the purpose of building strong supplier relationships and negotiating favourable terms for the business.

The company manufactures components for the automotive industry and has a very strong order book.

**As the Project/Senior Buyer you will support the Purchasing Manager**:

- Work with the existing supply base across Europe and the Far East to ensure the best possible part/material and component supply.
- Build very strong relationships and where possible deliver more favourable commercial terms.
- Look at a range of new suppliers to increase the supply base.
- Manage the new component introduction from suppliers.
- Overall you will work to improve the purchasing function and ensure it is best in class to enable the production targets to be met on time in full.

**To be successful within the role you will have**:

- Previous experience as a Buyer or Senior Buyer or Project buyer within a manufacturing business.
- New Product Introduction.
- Proven negotiation skills and to have an in-depth understanding of commercial terms.
- Far East sourcing.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing.
- Purchased a range of materials, components, and parts.
- Worked with a range of MER/ERP systems.
