Lab Support Assistant
**We have an opening to support our Pharmaceutical client within the Worthing area, offering Laboratory** **support working within an integrated** **environment and with a well established team, fantastic opportunity for an individual seeking experience in a laboratory environment**

The Lab Support Assistant's role is to provide services to support the laboratory functions at Worthing.

**Preparation of laboratory solutions**
- Preparing buffer solutions, media/agar, eluents, standard solutions to facilitate sample analysis

**Equipment calibrations, checks and functionality testing**
- Functionality testing and regular user-maintenance of assorted laboratory equipment ie balances, pH meters
- Adherence to calibration schedules and completion of appropriate documentation to GxP standards

**Glassware Management**
- cleaning glassware and replenishing stores area

**Contractor management**
- Hosting of visiting engineers to area

**Waste Management**
- Load/unload autoclave waste
- solvent disposal

**Administration**
- Completion of all learning and training tasks on time in full.
- Reporting of all EHS concerns, near misses and accidents to your line manager.

**Other duties**
- Work flexibly to any reasonable request of management, or to encompass any urgent or unanticipated needs arising for increases or decreases in plant production schedules.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Ensure that tasks are completed according to the schedule and therefore have no negative impact on production.
- Accountable for adopting the ALCOA+ (attributable, legible, contemporaneous, original & accurate) principles.
- Maintaining 100% in MyLearning & Mitie Learning hub
- Ensure all laboratory solutions and samples are prepared or available daily.
- Ensure scheduled equipment calibration and functionality testing is completed in line with the plan.
- Flexibility to cover any activities that supports plant production

**What we are looking for**
- Attention to detail & capability to work methodically to strict processes and procedures
- Ability to communicate effectively and foster good working relationships with a wide range of client, internal and external roles
- Confidence and communication skills to challenge behaviours and drive continuous improvement.
- Can perform under pressure and independent of supervision
- Position requires individual to be mobile (moving to/from various laboratories) and some physical lifting will be necessary
