We are looking for a Ward Clerk to work as part of a team of ward clerks covering the administration duties of Wards 10 and ward 11 here at Preston Hospital.

You will be answering phone calls from relatives and other departments within the hospital. Liaising with the Doctors and Nursing staff, passing on messages, using a computer to manage electronic patient records and appointments.

You will enhance our team to maintain the highest standards of record keeping in line with data protection. You will often be the first point of contact for our service users, relatives and members of our multi-disciplinary team. Therefore, it is essential that you demonstrate a professional and courteous manner at all times.

Respond to requests for information promptly and efficiently using a variety of communication methods, ensuring that Trust Customer Service standards are adhered to.

You will provide a professional and courteous “front of house” service for all staff and visitors utilising the facilities provided by Wards at Lancashire Teaching Hospital, acting in a professional and courteous manner at all times.

You will respond to requests for information promptly and efficiently using a variety of communication methods, ensuring that Trust Customer Service standards are adhered to. Ensure information is accurate and meets Trust Standards regarding delivering information.

Wards 10 and 11 are Busy surgical wards for patients undergoing major surgery of the upper gastrointestinal tract, the colorectal tract and the urinary system.

We will provide you with relevant training working alongside our existing ward clerks and nurses. You will be given training in information governance, safeguarding adults and children, basic life support and many more.
