Function

Sopra Banking Software is currently seeking an experienced Linux / Unix Systems Administrator to join our expanding SaaS & Cloud Services department to provide a key service working within live production environments.

The role is to provide systems administration on a day-to-day business, alongside project activities to support our customers. These activities include tasks involving system performance. monitoring, optimisation, automation activities/tasks, troubleshooting incidents, database refreshes and software and hardware upgrades.

The role entails working with a mixture of cloud and on premise environments, but with the cloud environments increasing and on premise decreasing over time.

Profile

Have experience as a Linux / Unix Systems Administrator in a production/Managed Services environment

Experience in Oracle Solaris and/or Red Hat Linux, Red Hat virtualization including building, installing, configuring and troubleshooting.

Knowledge and experience of OpenLDAP, NGINX, Websphere, Connect Direct and Commvault Back-Up solution.

Good working knowledge of Storage Area Networks, Java Application Servers, on-premise Virtualization technologies (including Oracle OVMs and Containers), Cloud virtualization along with monitoring and Performance Tuning Servers in a multi-tenant Environment would be advantageous..

Middleware experience in JBOSS and Webligic

ISO27001, ITIL, Configuration Management, and Sarbanes Oxley and GDPR Compliance are all highly desirable

Any exposure and working knowledge of Systems Monitoring tools would be desirable

Applicants must be able to work in a small team environment and be able to interact with customers on a daily basis

There is a requirement for Out of Hours work to meet customer demands around patching, DR testing and project deliveries.

After an initial training period, there may be a requirement to provide out of hours support on a standby rota covering 1 week in every 5. This is to support our 24/7 operations and support to customers.
