**Summary**

The System Administrator is pivotal in supporting our IT infrastructure. This role involves administrating and configuring computer systems and servers, handling hardware and software setups, and monitoring system performance to ensure smooth operation. The System Administrator will also provide technical support and help maintain network security and data protection. While being proactive is beneficial, the focus is on maintaining steady and reliable IT operations within the scope of our resources and standards.

**Main Responsibilities**
- Assist with installing and configuring software, hardware, and networks as needed.
- Monitor system performance, addressing issues as they arise.
- Aid in securing data, overseeing network access, and supporting backup systems.
- Administer user accounts, permissions, and access rights within defined guidelines.
- Assist in developing and maintaining disaster recovery and data backup plans.
- Provide technical support and assistance to end-users.
- Contribute to maintaining Cyber Essentials certification.
- Maintain a record of hardware and software licenses.
- Support the installation, maintenance, and upgrade of IT infrastructure.
- Collaborate with various departments to align IT resources with their needs.
- Report to the IT Manager and assist in achieving departmental objectives.

**Desirable Qualifications & Experience**
- Some experience in system administration, with the ability to handle tasks independently, including routine maintenance and backup checks.
- Ability to suggest improvements to current systems based on observations and analysis.
- Familiarity with troubleshooting and configuring systems within a Windows environment; knowledge of Mac & Linux is advantageous.
- Basic understanding of SQL and database management.

- Capable of working independently on straightforward maintenance tasks and system checks.
- Effective communication skills, ability to interact with team members to address IT-related questions or problems.
- Flexible and adaptable to the business's changing needs, with an interest in learning new technologies and improving technical skills over time.
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively.
