SJOG’s Green Team exists to enrich the lives of the people we support. We do this by caring for green spaces for the benefit of the people we support in our residential and community services.

We are very excited to be recruiting for an experienced gardener who has a passion for garden maintenance and development, to join our team. You will need to be enthusiastic, have a positive attitude and take pride in efficiently maintaining high standards.

You will be required to work unsupervised and will also work alongside the team and apprentices.

Work will be undertaken throughout the year and in most weathers, with tasks being selected as the conditions allow, PPE and uniform are provided. We require some flexibility to work within seasonal adjustments in working hours, due to daylight, with a 30 hour per week average over the working year.

There is a regular requirement to travel across SJOG services in and around the North East, and West Yorkshire. A valid driver’s licence is essential and the travel will be during work hours, in the SJOG company vehicle.

**Do you have the skills, knowledge and experience detailed below?**
- Previous Horticultural and / or grounds experience
- Competently using Horticultural tools and Horticultural machinery (2 and 4 stroke)
- Ability to maintain high standards of work without supervision
- Ability to work effectively within a team
- Good level of physical fitness
- Able to work outside in most weather conditions
- Willingness to work flexibly
- Good communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to follow instructions
- Adaptable to the needs of the role
- Hold a valid UK Driving Licence with a category B entitlement
- Aged between 21 and 26 years old, due to funding requirements and insurance purposes.
