Work at other locations within North Staffordshire may be required from time to time

**Salary**:£23,000 per year pro rata (actual: £13,493.33 pa)

**Hours of work**: 22 hours per week, ideally worked over 4 days but this can be negotiated

**Fixed term**:upto 31st March 2025

We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised and empathetic person with excellent communication skills to join our team. We want to make sure that volunteering for our charity is a fulfilling experience and we are looking for someone who will provide support to our existing team of volunteers and also recruit, induct, manage and support new volunteers.

Previous experience of working as a Volunteer Coordinator is not essential but we are looking for someone with the right personality and skill set to make a success of this role.

**Main duties and responsibilities**
- To source and recruit volunteers with a diverse range of skills to support all areas of our charity’s work
- Delivery of volunteer inductions and training
- To co-ordinate and manage volunteers
- To carry our volunteer supervisions
- To work with volunteers to produce development plans
- To carry out DBS checks for volunteers and to check volunteer expense claims
- To create and review risk assessments for volunteers
- To write Volunteer Role descriptions as required
- To attend volunteer fayres and partnership meetings
- To organise and deliver volunteer thank you events
- To keep accurate records and produce monthly reports
- Management of own workload
- To maintain the highest standards of conduct at all times. To carry out the duties of the post with strict adherence to all SSLA policies and procedures.
- To be aware of any health and safety issues affecting themselves, colleagues and clients.
- Other duties may be required that are appropriate to the overall role

Essential:

- Experience of supporting, coordinating and training volunteers
- Experience of recruitment
- Experience of writing risk assessments

**Other information**

An enhanced DBS check plus 2 satisfactory references will be required prior to taking up role
