**Outpatient Booking Clerk / Administrator** Contract Length: Anticipated 3 months Location: Brighton, BN2 5BE PAY RATE: £11.85 PAYE TBC Full Time only - 37.5 hours per week Days - Monday to Friday Core Hours 8am to 4pm but flexible to 10am - 6pm Our client is looking to hire an Outpatient Booking Clerk / Administrator for approximately 3 months. An Outpatient Booking Clerk / Administrator is required to support the processing of Patient's referrals from GPs (accessing Careflow, eRS) and to book, amend and sometimes cancel outpatient appointments for patients via the telephone and to confirm these details by letter using the patient administration system if required. As the Outpatient Booking Clerk / Administrator you will have experience working in a similar role and previous Customer Service/Administration experience. We are looking for an Outpatient Booking Clerk / Administrator with broad computer literacy, knowledge of NHS specialities, and accuracy and attention to detail is important. As the Outpatient Booking Clerk / Administrator you will have the following responsibilities:

- To register new patient referrals and send these for clinical triage so that the urgency of the appointment can be highlighted by a clinician.
- To book, amend and sometimes cancel outpatient appointments for patients via the telephone and to confirm these details by letter using the patient administration system
- To answer telephone calls from patients, GP’s, and other staff, always maintaining confidentiality and ensuring that a patient focussed/professional service is maintained

As the Outpatient Booking Clerk / Administrator you will have worked in a similar role and will have the following skillset:

- Customer Service/Administration Experience
- Good standard of computer skills - full training will be given on the patients administration system
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with patients/service users and staff at all levels of the organisation
- Ability to organise and prioritise own workload
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities
- Problem solving skills
- Ability to exercise discretion and ensure that patient confidentiality is maintained at all times
- NHS Administration Experience - desirable
- Experience of using the patient administration system - desirable
- Working knowledge of the patient access policy and national NHS targets - desirable

Contract Length: anticipated 3 months Full Time only - 37.5 hours per week Days - Monday to Friday Core Hours 8am to 4pm but flexible to 10am - 6pm PAY RATE: £11.85 PAYE TBC Location: Brighton, BN2 5BE. Interview Process: TBC
