As a member of the Inpatient Admissions Team, you will be the first point of contact for patients to the Department and responsible for the administration of the waiting list for designated specialty areas. You will be responsible for booking surgical procedure for patients for a designated specialty/specialties in line with clinical priority and waiting time targets.

You should be a good team player with the ability to manage your own workload and possess an excellent telephone manner.

Computer competence, strong customer care, communication and team working skills are all required. Experience in a clinical administration role is desirable.

You will also need to be able to balance tact and assertiveness, combined with the ability to work calmly and patiently within a team, in a sometimes stressful environment.

You will have experience of working in a high volume patient/customer focused role.

The post holder will be responsible for the efficient management of the allocated specialty waiting list and maintaining government targets in accordance with the Patient Access Policy.

The post holder will be required to work unsupervised and on their own initiative, as well as working as part of team with clinical, management and clerical staff to deliver the highest standards of administrative support possible for patients, hospital staff and any other person their duties bring them into contact with.
