The Head of Corporate Affairs and Secretariat will support the Director of Corporate Affairs by managing the performance and direction of the Corporate Affairs Team. They will employ their highly developed and specialist knowledge of governance and risk management to deliver the highest standards of corporate governance within the Trust, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks, the Provider Licence, relevant legislation, and the Trust Constitution.

The Head of Corporate Affairs and Secretariat will be responsible for the effective and efficient management of the business of the Board of Directors and its committees, as well as the management of the business of the Council of Governors and its committees and groups.

The post holder will be responsible for the effective and efficient management of NELFT's membership, including delivery of the membership strategy, effective engagement, and managing the annual elections to the Council of Governors.

The Head of Corporate Affairs and Secretariat will be responsible for monitoring and implementing national policies and practices, formulating long term strategic plans, and will support the Head of Corporate Governance and Assurance in developing and advising on corporate strategy, change management, and business planning.

The Head of Corporate Affairs and Secretariat will deputise for the Director of Corporate Affairs where required.

Probationary Period

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

High Cost Area Supplement

This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £4,313 to a maximum of £5,436).

COVID-19 Vaccination
