On behalf of our client, Head-First is recruiting for an experienced, motivated, and highly skilled team leader to join a small team of support workers in assisting a 19-year-old lady with an acquired brain injury.

Currently living at home with her mum, two brothers, and a vast array of pets The client is transitioning from full-time school, towards a full-time package of support and education in the community. There is a support team already in place, and we are now looking for an experienced team leader to join the team.

Your role will enable our client to live in the community, maximising her rehabilitation potential, improving her quality of life, and achieve her desired goals. The client undertakes regular therapy sessions as well as enjoying hobbies such as photography, shopping, trips to Starbucks, and cooking. The client also has a boyfriend and requires support to navigate and facilitate their relationship.

Her team plays a key role in facilitating these experiences. You will be responsible for ensuring that her Support Workers are fully up to date with ongoing rehabilitation and support needs in addition you will oversee and manage them.

Due to her brain injury, she requires support with relationships, accessing the community, managing money, helping around the house, and building skills to potentially live independently in the future. She can struggle with motivation and initiation so supporting her to engage in meaningful activities and maintaining her schedule is a big part of the role. She can also struggle with anxiety while out in the community, and fixate on social interactions, these moments require an understanding and patient approach and personality.

This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a team being put in place to support and develop the next stage of our client’s journey, where no two days are the same.

**What does the role offer you?**
- An extensive induction and training program offering support and guidance every step of the way.
- Regular supervision/appraisal with your case manager and ongoing support from the wider team and therapists.
- To work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- A supportive and friendly family, who are grateful for all the support they receive.

**What are we looking for?**
- Experience in managing a team of Support Workers, ideally in a community setting.
- Passion and commitment to the role, with an opportunity to get to know our client and make a difference in her daily living.
- The ability to bring your strengths and interests to the team.
- Flexibility and availability to provide cover for absences on a bi-weekly rota, including overnight and weekend shifts.
- Ability to communicate effectively, as part of a team.
- A professional approach to coordinating all aspects of care and support.
- Enthusiasm to support the client’s participation in social, leisure, and rehabilitation activities in a variety of fun settings.
- Knowledge of mental capacity and supporting best interest decisions.
- Assist in reaching the client’s specific goals as instructed and trained by the therapy team.
- Have up-to-date DBS at an enhanced level - paid for by the employer if you need to apply.

**About Head-First**:
Head-First provides regular 1:1 clinical supervision and 24/7 emergency on-call support. Head-First has experienced payroll and human resources teams so support workers always have a point of contact for employment and pay queries.
