Reporting to the Operations Manager and together working closely with the Technical, Planning and Warehousing functions, you will be responsible for the day to day running of the Process and Packing departments. You will be keen on making positive improvementwith a focus on health & safety, efficiency, waste reduction, reducing overheads, downtime reduction and quality.
**Key duties and responsibilities**:

- To lead the Production team to ensure they are engaged and high performing with a focus on problem solving and teamwork.
- To ensure that site requirements are documented, briefed out and trained out to all staff.
- To manage the availability of labour against the plan and to work with colleagues to optimise labour across the Manufacturing functions.
- To maintain product quality and adherence to GMP through management of the team.
- To co-ordinate maintenance activities in conjunction with the Engineering team to deliver planned and reactive maintenance.
- To co-ordinate hygiene activities in conjunction with the Hygiene team to ensure that hygiene standards are maintained.
- To liaise and co-operate with colleagues in Technical and Quality teams to ensure that GMP and quality standards are maintained.
- To participate in problem solving initiatives to reverse poor trends & drive improvements.
- To gain a solid understanding of the Process, Mixing and Packing operations, to enable direct involvement in the 3 areas with regards to machine and labour planning, throughputs and plan completion. To develop this knowledge to enable the ability to stepin and run a production shift effectively.
- To be able to co-ordinate the Manufacturing operations with regards to ensuring the Production plan is carried out efficiently and cost effectively.
- To at all times be conscious of reducing all and any types of waste identified, including, waste of: product, time, effort, energy, movement, money.
- To effectively manage and comply with all company policies and procedures e.g. health & safety, training & development, quality, disciplinary & grievance and sickness & absence etc.
- To set a positive example of conduct, attitude, behaviour, adherence to GMP and company standards and the manner you deal with other members of staff.
- Previous experience in a busy or fast-paced production / manufacturing environment
- A great understanding all manufacturing processes
- Previous experience of managing a team with great people management skills
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
- The ability to set targets and manage performance to achieve these results
- Problem solving ability
- Sound analytical and administration skills
- Computer literate (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- A professional attitude based around development and improvement

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday 2pm to 10pm static shift
- Salary: £27,000.00-£32,000.00 per year dep on experience
