About the Role
Puratos is seeking a Production Shift Manager to join our team at our Simonswood site. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective, safe, and controlled running of the production shift.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate all shift start-up and shift completion activities.
- Deliver the daily planning of the team, including shifts, rotas, task allocation, guidance, breaks, overtime allocation, and wellbeing and safety.
- Ensure the daily plan is met in line with all business expectations and customer specifications.
- Liaise with all departments, support functions, and management team members to ensure the effective running of production.
- Report, communicate, and investigate any incidents of non-conformances.
- Supervise new team members, including agency workers, to ensure they are safe, knowledgeable, and aware of all site processes and procedures.
- Motivate team members to work towards business targets through encouragement, engagement, inclusion, and supporting the resolution of any issues.
- Oversee the training and development of team members, identifying any skills gaps or opportunities proactively to ensure business continuity and engagement of team members.
- Represent the Production team in key meetings or visits as required.
- Liaise professionally and effectively with all stakeholders, both internally and externally.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2-3 years management/supervisory experience in a food manufacturing role.
- Ideal experience of confectionary sauce production.
- SAP experience, preferably as a competent/advanced user.
- IOSH qualification or awareness of key H&S regulations.
- Natural leadership and strong communication skills.
- Effective collaboration skills, able to engage all stakeholders and support functions to drive the performance and engagement of the team.
