We have an exciting opportunity for a Lecturer in Sport and Public Services to join our Sport & Public Services team in York. This role will be working on a part-time, permanent basis (23hrs per week). You will be working in a hard-working, enthusiastic and evolving department and have a great opportunity to put your own stamp on future developments.

We are seeking an individual who will be responsible for the delivery of primarily Public Service but also Sport qualifications. Sector experience and technical qualifications related to industry are essential.

With experience in Uniformed Services, the Police or the outdoor industry and a passion for what you do, you may not have experience in teaching, but must be willing to work in a dynamic and challenging environment that is exciting, engaging and rewarding. Above all, you will be ready to learn and keen to positively influence the future of our students.

**Key Tasks / responsibilities**:
**Leadership & Management**
- Work as part of a team to support and manage full compliance regarding all elements of the Study Programme to meet student satisfaction and progression and that these are monitored and reviewed via Pro-Monitor and quality assurance/audits.
- Support and manage effective implementation of the College quality management system and quality review schedule within the department via moderation processes and ensure standardisation is effective within your department and liaise with awarding bodies and external verifiers, moderators and examiners as appropriate.
- Support in the curriculum planning for full, part time and FCR courses, prospectus information and timetables.
- To deal with general student recruitment enquiries as required.
- Deal with immediate student issues.
- Support and undertake the responsibility assessment and internal verification for agreed courses.

**Teaching, Learning and Assessment Management**:

- Plan, prepare, support and teach agreed contact hours for the academic year commencing from to a high standard, leading by example.
- Be instrumental in the implementation of the TLA policy.
- Support Teaching, Learning & Assessment through high quality teaching and curriculum management within the department.
- Manage teaching effectively, including covering the teaching of classes as and when required.

**Personal Development Behaviour & Welfare Management**:

- Manage student expectations by implementing the student Positive Behaviour policy and procedure.
- Support the management and implementation of Student CPD activities.
- Support the management of ‘Professional Development’ and ‘Work Placement’ programme within the department to ensure all full-time learners undertake the agreed period of career progression and work placement (as appropriate).
- Support the management of Student Appraisal for all full time learners.

**Key Interfaces**:

- Liaison with students and parents.
- Curriculum Area Manager, Curriculum Team Leader, Course Managers and administrator within the department.
- Other central College teams, e.g. Quality, MIS, Marketing, Student Services, Estates, HR, IT and Finance.
- Employers - work closely with employers to ensure the curriculum reflects their needs and also that placement/career progression opportunities are provided for learners.
- Partnerships - Local Enterprise Partnerships, local schools, HEIs, Funding Agencies, Awarding Bodies.
