**Job Purpose**
Reporting to the Director of Business Change and working in collaboration with fellow Heads of Service within the Transformation team, and key stakeholders across the University, the Senior Transformation Lead will directly lead a project or portfolio of change projects from the Transformation Portfolio. Skilled in managing complex multi-year change initiatives and leading teams to success, the role holder will have a breadth of experience in change, able to adapt their approach depending on the challenges in front of them. An inspirational and strategic change leader, their purpose is to create and set the direction for the project(s), working alongside our most senior leaders at the University to inform, influence and shape projects and programmes of work that deliver real benefit to the University. Adept at working as a senior leader, matrix managing resources from diverse backgrounds able to create a winning team aligned to the transformation ask and delivery of agreed outcomes and benefits.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**
1. Lead large-scale, multi-year, and/or multiple transformation improvement projects. From inception to completion ensuring that project plans, budgets and resources are in place aligned to the strategic nature of the change.
2. Lead the creation of both a business case but also a compelling case for change to influence senior leaders to support the execution of change. A credible influencer and storyteller, able to engage all levels of stakeholders, crafting effective messaging, to the appropriate audience, that drives forward transformation projects and change.
3. Lead the diagnosis, design, and creation of innovative and sustainable solutions to achieve project benefits that include improved service excellence and/or more effective use of university resources. Demonstrating a data-led approach to create actionable insights, utilising industry-leading thinking to shape solutions fit for the future.
4. Lead cross-functional teams, in a matrix management structure, on a range of types of improvement projects of ensuring the effective benefit delivery and deployment of resources. Innovate through rapid experimentation to accelerate organisational change efforts and break new ground.
5. Provide individualised executive coaching to develop high-potential individuals and senior leaders to support capability for change that drives an improvement culture.
6. Deliver team coaching to strategic delivery teams to help build a high-performance delivery capability working hand in hand with programme and project management resources to deliver benefits.
7. Leading real and effective stakeholder engagement bringing people with us on the journey, and being an advocate for change across the institution.
8. Lead the design and testing of a successful model to integrate Subject Matter Experts and University Senior Leadership into transformation projects that build capability in teams to deliver change effectively.
9. Create and embed change utilising the University of Glasgow’s Change Framework, working closely to nurture strategic partnerships with People and Organisational Development, Finance, Information Services, and others to ensure effective shape and deliver broad-scale transformational change. Adept at implementing a variety of different change solutions across, people (organisation), process, technology and data.
10. Design and shape areas for further improvement opportunities and in collaboration with the Director of Business Change, present these recommendations to the Transformation Board for approval. This will involve understanding, influencing, and coaching a range of colleagues at all levels.
11. The Senior Transformation Lead must be able to impact the organisation not only through their influencing & leadership skills but by taking personal ownership for the delivery of measurable results. They must be able to garner respect from individuals or teams and be willing to get their hands dirty in getting the job done.

A1 Ability to demonstrate the necessary strategic competencies required to undertake the duties associated with this level of post having acquired the necessary professional knowledge and leadership experience in a similar or number of different specialist roles. Or: Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework level 9,10 or 11 (Ordinary/Honours Degree, Post Graduate Qualification), or equivalent, including being professionally qualified in a relevant discipline, with a broad range of professional leadership experience in strategically important specialist areas.
A2 Highly developed knowledge and understanding of change and/or change management methodologies.
A3 Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of transformative change and improvement projects in complex environments.
