Leicestershire Fire & Rescue Service proudly serves Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland, attending over 8,000 emergency incidents each year. Supporting our operational staff on the front line are a number of non-operational departments, which are key tothe successful running of the Service.

**About the role**

You will be responsible for supporting the accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and pension functions. Duties will include:

- Processing invoices, raising purchase orders and assisting with making payments
- Raising invoices, debt collection and accounting for income
- Monthly processing of payroll and expenses
- Undertaking various activities in relation to pension administration
- Providing sound advice to the Service for all areas listed above

You will report directly to the Finance Operations Manager whilst also being supported by the Senior Finance Assistant. This is a full-time (37 hours per week), fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave.

**About you**

We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and ambitious individual who can excel in a busy work environment. You will be able to work under pressure, provide excellent customer service and ensure that deadlines are achieved on time.

Ideally, you will have a good understanding and experience of working in all areas of payroll, pensions, accounts payables and receivables.

**Pension considerations**

You will automatically be enrolled into The Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS); this is a tax-approved, defined benefit occupational pension scheme. Your contributions are based on your earnings, and you can choose from different income options whenyou retire.

Please note that it is your personal responsibility to check whether by applying/accepting this position it would result in any Annual Allowance or Lifetime Allowance implications. A breach in these Allowance thresholds could result in a Tax charge. Furtherinformation on these Allowances can be obtained from our Pensions team.
