This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and creative psychology graduate to work across the Pain and ME/CFS Services, both therapy-led multi-disciplinary teams. Both teams work in a psychologically informed way using an acceptance and commitment framework to support patients to live well even in the presence of pain, and to establish effective strategies for managing fatigue. Psychological therapy is integral to this approach and the successful applicant would work as a member of a team of psychologists skilled in a range of approaches including ACT, CBT, mindfulness and Compassion Focused Therapy.

We work in an integrative way to deliver psychologically informed pain management and support for people with a diagnosis of persistent pain and ME/CFS. The services consist of a range of professionals including Psychologists, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Pharmacists, Nurses and Pain Consultants.

There will be opportunities for close interdisciplinary working, research, teaching and training & contributing to service development. We place a strong emphasis on CPD through team based training and support for attending external courses.

The service is based at St Leonard’s Hospital in Hackney, close to Old Street with excellent transport links and good local amenities.

Under supervision of Senior Psychologists the post-holder will support with audit, quality improvement (QI) and research projects, developing resources, and training materials.

The post holder will be involved in the collection of PROMS and PREMS, including analysis and presentation of data. Depending on skills and experience, the post holder will carry a small caseload of patients with Pain and/or ME/CFS offering brief psychological interventions. They may also be involved in the MDT assessment process. This post will work closely with other psychologists and MDT colleagues in the Pain and ME/CFS services, and receive weekly supervision from a Senior Psychologist.

**The post holder will be expected to**:

- Utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research within the area served by the team/service.
- Assist in the preparation and delivery of in-service training/teaching sessions to healthcare professions from other disciplines (nurses, therapists, medical doctors) and presentations in local clinical seminars
- Support the team in audit, QI and research including collection and analysis of PREMS and PROMS
- Conduct assessment of psychological wellbeing and to contribute to MDT assessment where required
- Carry a caseload of individual patients offering brief interventions using CBT and ACT approaches as appropriate for Pain and ME/CFS
- Assist with designing, delivering and evaluating group pain management and fatigue management programmes
