We are currently recruiting Assistant Psychologist roles based in our Tier 3 CAMHS services in Richmond. This role has an emphasis on supporting young people in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services at Tier 3 level. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support the team and work with young people and their families, ensuring that the young person is supported. Undertaking assessments and interventions, risk management and liaising with mental health counterparts will all be part of this innovative role.

The role will be based in CAMHS to support young people with moderate to severe mental health difficulties. The post holder will work closely with the existing transition worker/clinician to established better links with other Mental Health services, with some attendance at their team meetings, and with our colleagues.

This is an exciting post and will include regular opportunities and supervision to support your development. You will be working in a multi-disciplinary CAMHS team.

The Trust is committed to supporting flexible working, including a blended approach of on-site and home-based video conference working. There an assistant psychologist group for staff working in CAMHS across the Trust as well as CPD workshops. The Trusts has strong links with the University of Surrey Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy) Training Scheme.

**About our location**:
Barnes Hospital, Barnes

From April 2023 our community hub at Barnes Hospital will relocate temporarily to Livingston House, Teddington, while work on a state-of-the-art outpatient facility at Barnes gets underway. This will be part of a mixed use development on site alongside a new school and residental housing. Adult outpatient services are scheduled to return to Barnes in late 2024 when this new facility opens.

Under appropriate supervision from a qualified Clinical Psychologist:

- To assist in the formulation and delivery of care plans involving the psychological treatment and/or management of a client’s problems, under the supervision of a qualified professional psychologist,
- To assist in the coordination and running of therapeutic and/or psychoeducation groups, or care planning.
- To attend and contribute to multi-disciplinary meetings, including referral, clinical and review meetings.
- To assist in the implementation and monitoring of therapy and care plans in a way that is positive and respectful of clients’ and carers' needs.
- To assist in the compilation of assessment, update and discharge reports as required.
- To work with other staff to assess clients in various settings and review their care in preparation for multi-disciplinary reviews.
- To assist in the development of a psychologically based framework of understanding and care to the benefit of all clients of the service, across all settings where care takes place.
