**The role**:
This post is to work with and prepare teaching materials for the Space Universities Network - a group of 40 Universities with 100 members - and is funded by the UK Space Agency. The Space Universities Network aims to enhance the quality of learning and teaching by providing support and resources to the higher education space science and engineering community. We focus on support for the activities of teaching staff involved in undergraduate and postgraduate space-focussed degrees. We achieve this through offering resources, workshops, supporting professional development and networking. We aim to link academia and industry to support our curricula and opportunities for students. The membership of SUN is spread across several different disciplines.

The specific goals for this role are to coordinate activities under curriculum, industry and resources sub-groups (see organisation chart), as well as 3 special projects proposed by SUN member universities. The role holder will be supported by an administrative role at 20%.

**What will you be doing?**:
Carry out tasks as described below:

- Showcase the University space education of the UK
- Seek out new teaching materials for the resource bank
- Liaise with a student organisation spacecareers.uk to support them to provide a link between students and industry for student projects
- To research and develop a list of guest speakers on different space topics who can add to member’s space degree courses
- To work with SUN members and industry to develop case study teaching resources on space topics
- Contributing to the maintenance of the SUN website
- Organise/ support short courses provided by partner Universities
- Initiate a student space conference by consultation with students and staff
- Monitor and report progress of teaching resources on University projects on Rocket Safety Videos, ‘Rocketlab’ and ‘Mars Yard’
- Document work in a final report and presentation for the funder.
- A good (2(i) or better) Bachelor’s level degree in a science or engineering discipline, or equivalent experience
- Experience of space content in a science or engineering degree
- Experience of industry via jobs/internships
- Experience of running a network or society
- Experience of writing/presenting
- Ability to reach out to and work with people at a variety of levels and backgrounds
- Ability to work in a team with academics/industry
- A high degree of initiative
