**The role**:
To co-ordinate the administration for the Space Universities Network. The role will provide administration support for the network and executive support for senior academic staff, undertake budget monitoring, organise and support a range of external events, prepare a range of documents.

The Space Universities Network - a group of 40 Universities with 100 members - and is funded by the UK Space Agency. The Space Universities Network aims to enhance the quality of learning and teaching by providing support and resources to the higher education space science and engineering community. We achieve this through offering resources, workshops, supporting professional development and networking. We aim to link academia and industry to support our curricula and opportunities for students. The role holder will be working closely with a Teaching Associate role at 50%.

**What will you be doing?**:

- Research, collate, organise and edit material for inclusion in reports and communications. Prepare documents and correspondence from outline briefs and manage the storage, archive and retrieval of key documentation.
- Design and/or implement administrative procedures as needed
- Create and maintain relevant spreadsheets and databases, e.g. events and activities, financial records, and stakeholder relationship management.
- Provide executive support to relevant senior staff, which may include diary management, planning and arranging meetings, arranging travel etc.
- Maintain accurate financial records and audit trails, using appropriate methods and University systems.
- Respond independently to queries and use initiative, judgment and in-depth knowledge to deal with daily unforeseen problems and enquiries, including from external parties.
- Organise and publicise events/workshops: liaise with venues, caterers, speakers, delegates

Essential criteria:

- Qualified to A level o_r _vocational qualifications (NVQ 3-4, level 3-4 business apprenticeship) or equivalent, plus significant work experience in a role coordinating or administrating a network of members.
- Experience of working in a busy, diverse and demanding environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to take ownership of problems and find solutions and build relationships and interact effectively at all levels and with a wide range of internal and external contacts.
- Event management experience.

Desirable criteria:

- Experience of working autonomously with little supervision, responding independently and dealing with unforeseen problems and circumstances.
- Experience of working in a team.
