**The Opportunity**

We are excited to announce a new vacancy for a Head of Category - Mining and Capex. This strategic leadership position will play a critical role in steering our procurement strategies for mining operations and capital expenditure projects across the business. Reporting to the Head of Procurement, this is an unparalleled opportunity to impact our procurement processes and contribute to our sustainability targets. This category has a spend of approximately £400m across 240 suppliers and you will lead a team of 3 category managers.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Leading the development and implementation of category strategies for mining operations and capital expenditure, ensuring alignment with business objectives and sustainability targets.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and execute cost-saving and efficiency-improvement initiatives.
- Managing supplier relationships, negotiations, and performance to ensure the delivery of value-driven and sustainable procurement outcomes.
- Drive sustainability agenda by sourcing energy efficient assets
- Driving innovation and continuous improvement within the category, exploring new market trends, technologies, and methodologies.
- Ensuring compliance with all legal, environmental, and corporate governance requirements in the procurement process.
- Mentoring and developing the procurement team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning.

**Who Are We Looking For?**
- Demonstrable leadership abilities with an aptitude for motivating and developing high-performing teams.
- Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills.
- A strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience in driving sustainability and efficiency initiatives within procurement processes.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., JDE, SAP) and MS Office/Google Suite.
