A pillar of the North East is looking for a **Network Manager**to take over a 2 million pound refresh of everything networks. This role is looking for a strategic Network Manager to migrate all networks from **Cisco to Aruba/ Palo Alto**, manage the team and be able to be hands on where necessary. You will manage a team of 6 and be able to communicate with varying stakeholders throughout the business to ensure projects are delivered within time andbudget.

You will set out the roadmap for how **network upgrades** will take place and be able to bring in new technologies where necessary. This is a great opportunity for someone looking for a new challenge within a friendly and innovative environment.

**Key responsibilities will include**:

- Managing, designing and developing complex network architecture, security solutions and routing, delivering solutions that are high quality, resilient, secure and scalable.
- Management, design, development and delivery of network and security architectures
- Manage and develop the network team and ensure projects are being delivered wihtin SLA’s
- Budget management and strategic forecasting for the network refresh projects
- Delivery of software defined networking solutions that are scalable, easy to administer and reliable
- Lead and define network and security solutions
- Ensure documentation of solutions is both relevant and current to that deployed
- Be accountable for the tasks of self and network team which relate to system capacity, continuity, robustness, resilience and stability
- Configuration of security platforms, including firewalls and IPS/threat protection
- Expertise in setup and configuration of DN and ability to configure and troubleshoot firewalls
- Work with the network team members and third parties to deploy new fibres and routes as required
- Communicate network projects and terminology to key stakeholders throughout the business clearly and without jargon

**Knowledge and Skills required**:

- Management experience of network engineers and design of network solutions
- Strong experience in Network switching & routing
- Strong experience in NGFW configuration, operation and administration
- Strong experience in Wireless operations, design, deployment, analysis & surveying
- Excellent understanding of how to configure network equipment and security systems.
- Excellent understanding of WiFi and wired standards, surveying, design and environment analysis. Focus on end user experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the work practices, processes and procedures relevant to the role.
- Experience of working in a similar operations role or environment.
- Experience managing third party suppliers and project delivery
